Jayda Hughes of Moultrie, Georgia, will represent Special Olympics USA in Alpine skiing. She has been a part of Special Olympics since she was 3 years old, starting with the Special Olympics Young Athletes program. Since then, she has trained and competed in Alpine skiing, basketball, bocce, bowling, golf and soccer. Though she enjoys everything about Special Olympics, her favorite parts are trying new sports and getting to win with her teams.
Jayda is employed at Walmart, working primarily in the apparel department. She is a member of 4H and enjoys volunteering at The Humane Society. In her free time, she makes ceramics and pottery, which has earned second place at the Georgia National Fair and first place at the Albany State Fair. She is honored to represent Special Olympics USA at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025.
