Claire Potter of Baltimore, Maryland, began competing in Special Olympics four years ago. In those four years, she has improved her skills in Alpine skiing, met new friends and increased her self-confidence. Representing Special Olympics USA in Alpine skiing, she will demonstrate her perseverance, resilience and outgoing nature on the slopes.
Employed as a sales associate at the Madewell clothing store in Baltimore, she has previously earned recognition as salesperson of the month. She volunteers regularly with Walking Discovery, a Baltimore-based social group that provides community integration activities for individuals with disabilities. An artist, she also sells her flower paintings at local art shows. Training for the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025, she is motivated by Eleanor Roosevelt’s quote, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
