Regine Theodore-Wise is a member of the Special Olympics USA alpine skiing team. She is from York, Penn., and has competed in Special Olympics for three years. Along with skiing, she competes in kayaking, golf, rollerblading, and figure skating. She shared that figure skating was harder than she expected, but her love is with skiing. “I really enjoy that I can learn sports through Special Olympics. I’ve met nice people and made new friends,” said Theodore-Wise.
Besides sports, Theodore-Wise loves music. She can play piano and loves to sing. Her favorite type of music is classical and opera. She also likes to go hiking and biking, and loves horses. She’s excited for the trip to Austria and looking forward to training. “Just being able to ski is the best part of it,” said Theodore-Wise. She believes that it’s an honor to go to the World Games; this is her first.
“I’m so grateful for this honor. It’s a huge and extraordinary event,” Theodore-Wise.
She’s looking forward to the honor of doing her best.
“This experience for me is a full circle for me from putting on my skis for the very first time."
