Nolan Carlson loves skiing locally at Mount Hood and Mount Bachelor in his native Oregon. Outside of the state he has also skied in Colorado, Utah and Idaho. This winter, however, he will have the chance to ski somewhere completely new when he travels to Austria for the Winter World Games. Carlson, from The Dalles, Ore., has been involved with Special Olympics for more than 20 years and has been skiing for just as long. Carlson has competed in soccer, baseball, softball and bowling. His favorite sport is skiing. When he isn’t skiing, however, he enjoys biking. Looking forward to the World Games, Carlson is excited to see how the snow feels and have fun while also hoping to get first place. He says he gets along well with everyone and has made a lot of friends through his involvement with Special Olympics.
