Ernie Reich is from Quakertown, Pennsylvania and has been competing in Special Olympics for so long that he doesn’t even remember when he started. He is now 47 years old and has been skiing since he was a little kid. Now, he channels his competitive side to compete for the Special Olympics US national team as an alpine skier. Reich typically spends his days swimming, running track, playing flag football, playing baseball and bowling. “I just like to stay in shape. That’s very important to me,” Reich said. When he’s not staying active, Reich holds a job with a local technology company, and loves spending time with his girlfriend. Special Olympics means a lot to him. “I love getting to meet new people and get out of the house. I like being able to travel, too,” Reich said.
